Santa Clara Candidate Forum - Aug 31, 2016

The first Santa Clara candidate forum.

All elections are important, but Santa Clara will be shaping our region for decades based on this upcoming council. Besides the massive assets and projects going on in Santa Clara (e.g., Levi's Stadium, Related's 239 acre City Place, SCU, etc.), the Win6 agrihood is at the heart of the Tri-Village vision for Winchester and Stevens Creek.

True partnership is needed on Stevens Creek, the border of Santa Clara and San Jose. Us residents don't really care where arbitrary city boundaries fall; we want complete streets and well planned neighborhoods that create an extraordinary quality of life and excitement for all. The Win6Village/BAREC site will lead the future of the Tri-Village area in vision and progressive designs, embracing and enhancing Valley Fair's and Santana Row's success.

How will Santa Clara partner with San Jose?
▪ How will Stevens Creek evolve collaboratively with these two cities?
▪ How will our two cities support the current regional destination that generates over 25million visitors a year, an economic engine for both cities?

These are questions that affect both San Jose and Santa Clara, and an example of why San Jose residents should be just as concerned about Santa Clara council elections as Santa Clara residents.
